Megan Boorman (nee VanderLee) was born and raised in Canmore Alberta. She received her first camera, a pink point-and-shoot, at the age of five and her love of the art of photography stems from that moment.

During high school Meg participated in Through the Lens, a program put on by the Banff Whyte Museum that teaches students to appreciate their community through the lens of a camera. Two years of the program and two group exhibitions later Megan knew that she was going to be a photographer.

To achieve this goal Megan attended the Western Academy of Photography in Victoria British Columbia, graduating with degrees in Professional Photography and Advanced Visual Communications. She also recieved the Judges Choice Best Image, Best Portfolio and Best Overall Student awards in her second year of schooling.

Megan Boorman is still living on the island, specializing in portrait and wedding photography and exploring her love of capturing people's personalities with her camera.
