I absolutely love when I get to photograph a family every year, see how the kids have grown and the family changed by that growth. So I love it when I get to photograph my friend Katie and her family every autumn. And this year I got to do it on the most beautiful day in the evening sunshine at Mary’s Farm!
Yesterday I met with this beautiful and fun family to do some family portraits but also celebrate someone’s special first birthday with some portraits. These two sisters were super adorable and we had fun in the fall leaves and made use of the most beautiful sunshine that we had this weekend!
While I was most of the way across the country visiting family I also had the opportunity to visit and photograph some of my favourite clients! I started photographing them for their wedding a few years ago and when I realized that they had moved close to where we visit we kept in touch and I’ve done their photos in Ontario a few times as well!
We met on a very rainy evening, but the location was beautiful in the gardens and we got some fun photos!
Today I got the chance to snuggle an adorable little lady while I photographed her. Baby Summer is the daughter of my son’s teacher last year. It was such a treat to get a chance to meet her new baby and keep that connection with my own baby’s first teacher who helped nurture him. She was so sweet, and so was her big brother who I can tell is going to be such an amazing big brother and protector for her.
This weekend was the fall edition of the Crafted Farmhouse Market, and I was again excited to do some mini sessions and get some adorable kiddos, and fun families in front of my lens. The market was amazing again, with tons of talented vendors, yummy food and treats and even beer! I’m looking forward to doing another market in the spring. Here is a quick sneak peek of some of the lovely faces I photographed this time….
Today I did a really fun shoot with my friend's daughter to celebrate her turning 8. We played around near the beautiful walls of the court house and then headed to Beacon Hill Park to frolic in the grass and play with the ducks!
Yesterday I photographed the wedding of Kristina and James. The wedding was so stunning with simple, beautiful decorating and perfectly matched colours. The boys looked handsome, the ladies were beautiful and the children were adorable and perfectly behaved.
The wedding took place at Church and State Winery overlooking the grapes. It was an intimate day full of family and friends and I was so blessed to be welcomed into their circle for the night to enjoy the delicious food, snuggle the babies and capture the laughter that was abundant.
As horrible as this smoke is for our beautiful province I feel it makes the photos I've taken over the last few days a little magical. A few weeks ago I met one half of this lovely family on the beach for photos and today I got to meet the other half. It was a great family session despite the smoke and I got some great shots of everyone that showed their obvious connection and love for each other.
Last year I photographed Alice for her 2nd birthday and we continued the tradition with a little shoot today, and to make it more special we got to add her little sister to the mix this year! It was crazy smokey out this morning but I thought it added a little magic to the gardens at HCP. We explored every little corner of the gardens to find all the little beautiful little spots and find all the creatures and flowers we could.
I have been looking forward to Melissa and Matthew's wedding since they braved a rainy day to do engagement photos with me. Their wedding did not disappoint. It was one of the more intimate and lovely weddings I have attended, from their vows matching, to the happy tears that everyone shed (including me during the speeches) and the fact that every guest joined us on our photography adventures around town. There were so many beautiful moments between these guys and their families. It was a wedding I will remember and I am sure everyone who attended woke up with warm hearts this morning.
Melissa and Matthew, thanks for letting me be a part of your love story for a day.
