Baby Hazel

I have been very fortunate to have many former clients become friends over the years and Erica and her family are one of those I've been lucky enough to keep in my life. I first met Erica through a mutual friend when she hired me to photograph her wedding. And now I have gotten to not only document her growing family but be a part of their lives.

Today we had an excellent day at their house photographing their beautiful new daughter Hazel while our boys played together. And Hazel was a dream to photograph even though she was far too interested in me and my camera to sleep. And she looks so much like her brother did at that age!

More Fairies!

My favourite kind of Fairy photo shoot is the collaborative kind. This shoot was so special because it blended two families (and playmates) together for a lovely little tea party at the end. These girls worked up an appetite playing fairies in the woods on such a beautiful day so we quickly finished all the yummy treats and lemonade and then got to work spreading some fairy dust around the farm.

Happy Mother's Day!

A couple of days ago I was honoured to be able to capture so many beautiful Mother's with their children (or baby bumps) during a special Mother's Day event at Bellies In Bloom Maternity. I had so much fun, got flirted with by the cutest men under the age of one and really saw the true connection between so many children and their parents. It was a lovely evening, the Bellies In Bloom ladies were amazing hosts and we made a very special donation for the Victoria Pregnancy Centre.

Thanks to all the mothers out there for all that you do! Happy Mother's Day!

The Wind & Willow Children's Fair {Fairy Mini Sessions}

On Sunday I had the opportunity to do Fairy Mini's at the Wind and Willow Children's Fair. I had an absolute blast doing these! It was so cool to see almost all my dresses and props all set up in one area, and the best part was all the excited little fairies, elves and lost boys I met! They all took their fairy duties quite seriously and we made some pure magic!

Here are just a couple of the magical little people that crossed my path!

Baby Cohen!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of snuggling baby Cohen! He is the nephew of my good friend (and often assistant) Jena so I even got a few extra snuggles in! He is such a little cutie with his adorable big lips and sweet little wrinkles. Seriously, so cute!

The Crafted Farmhouse Market {Mini sessions}

This weekend I had the pleasure of having a booth set up at the first Crafted Farmhouse Market in Sidney to do some mini sessions. I had so much fun meeting everyone and boy did I get some cute little baby faces come in front of my camera. It was also so lovely to photograph quite a few mothers and daughters who were shopping together, and some pretty adorable families. The market was also super amazing, lots of fabulous vendors and great food!

Here is a sneak peek of some of the beautiful faces to grace the lens of my camera this weekend!

Happy Valentines Day!

For most holidays me and my boys like to dress up and decorate, and valentines is a great excuse for red hair and heart stickers. I have also trained them to expect a photoshoot of some kind so today I spent nap time making bowties and stringing hearts for a little after school photoshoot!

I am one lucky lady to have these two cuties as my valentines!

Photographer turned Glitter Magnet!

By far my favourite moments of a Fairy Session are when I show a child her first glimpse of herself as a fairy on the back of my camera, and when I pull out the glitter for the final moments of our session!

Yesterday I had a good friend come out with me and do a few new snaps of me getting into the glitter spirit (Thanks Sara!). And boy did I ever get covered in glitter! It all started out quite innocently with a little glitter here and there and then my boys got in on the action and in seconds I had piles of  glitter stuck to me and in my hair! I'm still shedding glitter this morning.

Hiver turns ONE!

I can hardly believe it has been a whole year since I was photographing this little cutie all new and tiny!  I have gotten so many chances to document her first year and I really enjoyed watching her grow into the beautiful little girl she is. We finally had a perfect day for photos and headed out to find some beautiful spots in the forest to photograph her, and boy did we find some delicious light! And I can't get enough of the hat that her Mom (the talented knitter behind Magpie Knitwear) made, I want it in my size!

Chris & Kyle

Many years ago Chris and I attended photography school together and spent most of our days together, along with our classmate Sherri, trapped in dark studios, editing photos over breakfast and getting creative.

I was so honored to have her ask me to take some photos for her when she wed Kyle yesterday evening in an intimate wedding at the Union Pacific Coffee Co. There was so much love in the room, a lot of laughter and a few happy tears.

I can't wait to do some more wedding portraits of them during daylight hours! Here's a few favorites from the night.
