I have been lucky enough to photograph this little lady from before she was earth-side, for her newborn portraits, holiday milestones and now for her big second birthday in a month! We had some beautiful light today for some photos, and even though the dogs fought her for the cheerios treats, we had a super successful photoshoot! Isn’t she adorable!
Last year I photographed Alice for her 2nd birthday and we continued the tradition with a little shoot today, and to make it more special we got to add her little sister to the mix this year! It was crazy smokey out this morning but I thought it added a little magic to the gardens at HCP. We explored every little corner of the gardens to find all the little beautiful little spots and find all the creatures and flowers we could.
Today baby Robert came by for a visit and a snuggle. He was a dream and he slept the whole visit. My favourite photo from the whole day is when older brother John was more interested in trains that snuggling his brother (my son was much the same at that age.)
I can hardly believe it has been a whole year since I was photographing this little cutie all new and tiny! I have gotten so many chances to document her first year and I really enjoyed watching her grow into the beautiful little girl she is. We finally had a perfect day for photos and headed out to find some beautiful spots in the forest to photograph her, and boy did we find some delicious light! And I can't get enough of the hat that her Mom (the talented knitter behind Magpie Knitwear) made, I want it in my size!
While I did my boys photos a few weeks ago I also got to photograph this little cutie! And he even brought Star Wars pj's so he would fit in with my boys. Fraser is seriously a doll and I also love his one "grinch" expression that I managed to capture!
I really wanted to do a Holiday Mini Session this winter, but between everything I already had scheduled and family commitments it seemed a little to daunting to get done in time for the holidays. So instead I set up a little mini session for my own boys holiday photos and I LOVE it. Hopefully next year we can be up and running to do a session!
My boys can be total photographers kids, one part goofing off for the camera, one part silly "cheese" smile, and one part comfortable in front of the lens. But they really cooperated with me this year and we made some holiday magic! It was probably all the cookies and marshmallows I bribed them with!
I also snuck in some photos of my friend's adorable little guy which I will post later!
Today I had another beautiful fall fairy dance in front of my lens! I love how different this fairy tutu can look with a different color top and a change in crown.
I've known Emily since I photographed her as a tiny newborn, carting my own one month old along for the session. Today I brought my son along again, as my assistant, and he jumped in for a few photos too. Emily was magical today, using her wand to cast adorable spells and twirling around. She showed me all her favorite spots in the woods and we made our own magic.
Over the weekend I took a little trip out to the always beautiful HCP Gardens to meet this amazing family for some photos. These two girls are beyond adorable; they look cute smiling and pouting. The gardens are the perfect place to find cozy little areas to shoot in and we took advantage of all of the beauty.
Yesterday I got to photograph this insanely adorable (and smart!) little cutie! She had the energy of more than one two year old, but we followed her around and got some pretty great shots! We were interrupted half way through the session by a pod of Orca's swimming very close to shore hunting seals, which was an amazing sight to see!
I was so excited to have these two little best friends come for a session together. Every moment, especially the tea party, is more fun when you have a friend to join you. We headed all over the farm for these photos, starting in the wildflowers and ending near the most beautiful old tree. We had a lot of magical animal encounters during our session, a few slugs and snails, a mama deer and her two babies, and finally a little visit with Peanut the farm's new baby goat. But the highlight of the whole session for me was watching the girls enjoy their tea together, clinking cups and sharing cookies. Tea parties are made for best friends! I hope these two are still friends many years from now and can look back on these captured memories together.
